Let's Get Shabby!!

I've been playing with the idea of playing along with Let's Get Shabby for a few months now.. and i decided to finally give it ago..

This months challenge is to go Monochromatic!.  i thought to myself, this can't be that hard.. ok well it was a little harder than i thought, but i love how my layout turned out!!

I've gone with  cream/brown colour scheme..

This is a recent photo of Ash and I, it was taken on his 2nd birthday.. just a week ago now..

I'm really loving all the texture and bits and pieces in this layout.. I've used MME papers from the Lost and Found Collection, Websters Whimsies ( the gorgeous little bird), Kaiser flowers, and a few other  odd and ends...

So thanks for stopping by, you should drop by Let's Get Shabby and have a play.. I'm sure they would love to have you join in..

Negative Space...

I had so much fun doing this Challenge of Deb's over at Soul Scrappers...

It was a  negative space christmas card challenge... no real rules.. just make sure we had negative space... So Tahhh Dahhh...here is it...

All the papers are.. yup you guessed right.. Tim Holtz, The  Flowers, ticket, gamepiece, letters, and reindeer die cut are also  Tim Holtz. The holly leaves are some old Making Memories ones that i had...

While i was taking the pic for this i had a little helper  trying to hold it for me...

hmmm I wonder where he found that dummy... I was sure i had gotten rid of all of those... Ok then off to hunt for the pesky remaining dummy.. see you all soon..

A birthday Card...

Happy monday everyone! A little something to share with you today..

I made a birthday card over the weekend, had lots of fun doing it. i used my Tim Holtz Tag die to make the actual card, and then just added a few bits and pieces here and there..
I added in a pocket on the front, that i've slipped two tags into.. One is stamped, and the other had two journaling tags attached to it, with a ticket attached to each of those ( these are to become tickets that can be redeemed for two classes that she attends).

I had been playing with the ida of making a card from my tag die for a while, and i'm really happy with how it turned out!!.

Thank you for stopping by,

A birthday Gift..

Happy Monday Everyone!!

I hope you had a fantastic weekend, It was a quiet one for us..
Thursday is my Mum's Birthday.... So i made her a little something. This is Ash's very first school photo ( from Daycare). I think it's such a fantastic photo, it's the cheeky little man all over, So i thought i'd do something with it.

This is done on a canvas, I am loving doing these these at the moment.. Everything apart form the large red and small crochet flowers is Tim Holtz..

I've used papers from the Lost and Found paper stash, stickers from the Lost and Found Salvage stickers, Muse Tokens, game spinners, word keys, sprocket gears, brads, washers and pen nibs.  Here are a couple of close ups

So there we go, happy Birthday Ma...

I also have a half finished layout sitting on my huge desk in my nice new scrap space that i'm hoping to finish today.. I've been banished to the garage, but i don't mind, i now have two big 4 seater rattan outdoor tables at my disposal as my scrapping space!! yay!

Have a great day what ever you are doing, thanks for dropping by xxx

I'm in heaven..

I got a parcel i was waiting for today, that should have been here last week... that took a detour via Austria.. yes Austria...  But that's another story.. it contained also sorts of goodies, but these two were the ones i was waiting for the most....

So i'll give you one guess what i'll be up to after the little Goob goes to bed tonight.. I'm sure it's going to involve getting inky!!

I've had a tiny little play with the picket fence stain... it's amazing, it tones things down really nicely.. but it also really nice swiped down the side of your already inked tag, to make a lighter piece - ready for a stamp..

Watch this space to see what happens..

Tagged!

Just a something little to show you today..

Had a little play with a few things and this is what came out of it...

Don't you just love the Tim Holtz Kraft Resist paper stash???  is just gorgeous on it's own, but all inked up it's even better!!

I think i must have a bit of a thing for the Alterations Sewing Room die at the moment, this is the third tag i've made with it..

Have added in a few other bits and pieces, and added a very cool old wooden spool..
I've had a couple of questions about where i got my dress form from yesterday's post.. I actually got it at Target.. So it just goes to show you can find all sorts of inspiring things in all sorts of places..

So that's it for me for now..

Happy creating

an update finally..

So sorry to be a bit slack with the updates.. have been fighting with the flu again.. I did have a chance to create though..

I celebrated my 11th wedding anniversary this month, and made  a little something  for my hubby...  When i first got my compendium of curiosities  i had a little play with a few on the techniques in there.. and made my self a sticklified butterfly etc.. and had the just sitting in a safe place in my desk, so i decided to pull them out, and add them to the canvas that i was making..

I also love the heart examples on the heart mini movers and shapers, so i pulled out a couple of  hearts from a  mixed pack of grungeboard and changed them a little .. i crackle painted them, and inked them, instead of what looks like distress in and stamping on the examples.. I love how they turned out.. they have curled up nicely, and actually look a little like old cracked metal...

Thank you so much for looking, i'm off to try and create a little more while i have a little free time, thank you for looking..

Happy creating..

Baby Blues..

it's been a long time since i've actually scrapped in 12x12, but since the ideaology paper stash pads have some truly gorgeous papers that is't such a shame to cut up i found myself actually scrapping in 12 x12 today...

The background is heavily inked kraft resist.. gotta love this, it's gorgeous!! the rest is just a few bits form my ideaology stash! I also just got the tattered banners die, so i had a play with that.. lost of fun!!

 a couple of close ups..

Thanks so much for looking... Hope to see you again soon.. xxx

welcome to my little world..

Thanks for stopping by  my little part of the blog world to share with any of you who might be interested in my creations...

So i figure why not jump straight in and share with you my entry for my very first Grungy Monday challenge.. A great challenge for those of us inspired by the ever so talented Tim Holtz

I made this using the Tim Holtz alteration caged bird die... ( one of my favourite.) and of course some grungeboard, and a few other bits and pieces from the ideaology range. The bird is a Christmas decoration i bought at the end of christmas last year, that had just been sitting on a shelf in my craft room..

I had such a hard time getting the birdcage to actually look right, but i like how it came together in the end..

Thank you for stopping by, and sharing my very first post with me, i hope that i see you again soon..
